Classical Guitar Action Issues

The "action", as discussed in this article, is the height of the strings above the fingerboard.

Low actions make the guitar easier to play, and are preferred by most of our customer.  The drawbacks of a low action are:

--open bass strings (4-6), and sometimes fretted strings, buzz when played loudly.

--The tone of the bass strings may be somewhat restricted or lacking in clarity.

--medium tension strings will buzz very easily, even the trebles (1-3)

--the guitar may lack punch and projection

We ship guitars with the factory action.  Cordoba and Ramirez actions, for the models we carry, are typically lower than Alhambra.

If you like the guitar we send you, but don't like the restrictions of a low action, we can split the cost of creating a higher saddle, not to exceed $50 dollars outlay on our part.  This work should be done in your local environment, where the weather conditions may be dramatically different than they are in ours.
