Classical Guitar Return Guidelines and Policies
Note that we have never had an Internet return.
Wait at least 24 hours before calling to discuss problems with the instrument that would provoke a return. In most cases, it takes this long for the guitar to adjust to normal temperature and humidity. The guitar should be kept in an environment at 72 degrees, with a humidity level of 40-50 percent, and away from direct sunlight and heating/air-conditioning outlets or devices. Lower or higher humidity will adversely affect the sound of the guitar, and in extreme cases, cause buzzing or other action problems.
The best approach is to keep the guitar inside the case with the supplied humidifiers activated with water or provided solution.
Room humidifiers are much less effective, and a guitar that is sounding dull or unresponsive will not rebound very much, if at all, to its normal sound.
1. Humicase humidifiers should not be used.
If your guitar has a Humicase, DO NOT activate the built-in humidifiers. Make sure the Humicase humidifiers and activation solution stay unopened in their factory wrapping. If they are removed from their wrapping or used, your refund will be reduced by the replacement cost of these items.
2. Guitar condition.
The guitar must be returned in the condition it was shipped.
We package each guitar in the presence of a shipping employee so there is no dispute as to the guitar's condition before you receive it.
If you alter the guitar/case in any way, you own the affected item and there is no return option. In particular, do not alter the nut, saddle, frets, or tuning machines.
If you damage the guitar/case, you own the affected item and there is no return option. Some customers asked why they can't have the guitar fixed. To us, a repaired guitar is a used guitar, and we are not allowed to offer warranties on such instruments. Also, repaired guitars are worth less than our cost.
The only exception would be very minor scratches or dents that were not caused when the guitar was dropped, struck by a heavy object, etc.
3. Timeframe of return.
You have 72 hours (3 days) to evaluate a guitar we ship to you. In certain cases, we may agree to a longer time frame in writing. If the guitar is not returned as agreed, you own the guitar.
In unusual circumstances where we agree to reverse a sale when a customer has the guitar BEYOND the time frame specified above, the customer must pay a 20 percent restocking fee based on the price they paid for the instrument.
4. Notification of return.
Notify us via phone at
Request that we sign for the package. Otherwise, it may be left outside to be damaged by the elements or stolen.
5. Damage in shipping.
When you receive a guitar from us, inspect it in the presence of the delivery person. If the guitar is damaged, refuse to accept it and ask the delivery person to return it to us.
If you accept a damaged guitar, AND the shipping company denies responsibility for the damage, you own the guitar and have no return option.
6. Return costs.
In the event of a return, the customer pays shipping both ways.
7. Return shipping insurance.
If the guitar is damaged during return shipping, you own the instrument. Therefore, insure the guitar for the full purchase price.
