The Classical Artist Collection

The Classical Artist Collection is a limited selection of exceptional classical guitars chosen after years of product evaluation by a master player and teacher.

Approximately 4 guitars are rejected for every 5 evaluated.

(Prices and individual descriptions are shown below.)

These are models we would own ourselves

and use for public performances and recordings.

As a result, you won't waste time and shipping costs

by ordering multiple unsatisfactory guitars.

Also, there isn't a bewildering array of choices to sort through, or the

concern that some instruments may be substandard.

We did all the sorting for you years before this site opened,

and continue this process on an ongoing basis.

The guitars in the collection were selected according to the following criteria:

Professional quality at conservatory guitar prices.

In other words, you don't need to spend $3,000+ to receive

a beautiful-sounding guitar you'll cherish for a lifetime.

Charming, poetic character and "aliveness", offering

a playing experience you will fall in love with

An inspiring quality that allows you to play at your peak in terms

of creativity and expressiveness

Highly responsive to provide the widest range of volume

and tone color for the sensitive classical artist

Exceptionally beautiful appearance

A track record of structural integrity

Built by high-line manufacturers to ensure consistent overall quality

and years of trouble-free playing

As teachers and players, we recommend spruce guitars because of their greater tone color variety, string separation for voicing chords, and neutrality (allowing you to create your own, personalized sound).  Cedar guitars typically have a warmer, darker treble sound that is less distinct.

All prices include a hardshell, arch-top case and free shipping.

Cordoba guitar cases include two built-in humidifiers and an indentation under the headstock to place a Humicase humidity gauge.
