Hydrocyclone

Hydrocyclone is a conical vessel with a cylindrical part. The inner cone portion of the cone is called the liquid chamber. The cone outside is provided with a liquid inlet pipe, and the liquid chamber in the tangential direction. The container is on the top of the overflow mouth, the bottom is underflow (also called discharge). The dimension of the cyclone is determined by the maximum inner diameter of the cone.

Its working principle is centrifugal sedimentation. Due to the coarse particles and fine particle exists between the particle size difference (or density), the subject of the centrifugal force, centripetal buoyancy, drag force and different sizes, by centrifugal sedimentation, the middle pyramidal produced a low pressure area, forming a column of gas, create a vacuum suction effect, most of the fine particles under the function of the cyclone by the upper overflow discharge pipe, heavy particles thrown against the wall of the barrel, slide down along the wall of the barrel, from the lower port discharge.

Hydrocyclone is mostly used in numerous medium and soft mineral &rock materials, such as limestone, feldspar, calcite, talc, barite, clay, tombar thite, kaolin, gypsum, and graphite, etc.
